Freelance writer since 2000, with experience on a wide variety of movie magazines, websites and genre publications. Since 2001 I have been a regular freelance writer and reviewer for SFX, the UK’s biggest sci-fi and fantasy magazine, and I was a contributing writer on the 2014 Aurum Press book The Sci-Fi Chronicles. I completed an MA post-graduate degree in Creative Writing at the University of Manchester in 2015, and as a fiction writer I am currently represented by literary agent John Jarrold.

Freelance proofreader since June 2008, with eight years of experience proofing novels for Orion (Gollancz), Little, Brown (Orbit, and Abacus), HarperCollins (HarperVoyager), Pan Macmillan (Tor UK), and Ebury (Del Rey UK). In June 2010, I passed the Publishing Training Centre’s Basic Proofreading (Distance Learning) course with Merit, and I have proofread over one hundred novels. I have also sub-edited and copy-edited projects for Pan Macmillan and Angry Robot, as well as building up thirteen years experience doing editorial reports as a freelance manuscript reader.
