Freelance proofreader and copy-editor since 2008. I have over 3,000 hours of experience proofreading novels for mainstream publishers like Orion (Gollancz), Little, Brown (Orbit, Abacus, Little, Brown and Atom), HarperCollins (HarperVoyager and HQ), Pan Macmillan (Tor UK), Simon & Schuster (Scribner) and Ebury (Del Rey UK). I have also done sub-editing and copy-editing work for HarperCollins, Orbit, Pan Macmillan, Angry Robot, Orion Fiction and Simon & Schuster, as well as building up over a decade’s experience doing editorial reports as a manuscript reader.

Freelance writer since 2000, with experience on a wide variety of movie magazines, websites and genre publications. Since 2001 I have been a regular freelance writer and reviewer for SFX, the UK’s biggest sci-fi and fantasy magazine, and I was a contributing writer on the 2014 Aurum Press book The Sci-Fi Chronicles. I completed an MA post-graduate degree in Creative Writing at the University of Manchester in 2015, and as a fiction writer I am currently represented by literary agent John Jarrold.
